New year, new chapter in my health and fitness journey!

Yesterday I started P90X3, wow, to be honest I am disappointed in myself, after losing over 70lbs with various BB programs and ShakeO due to life issues, health issues etc. I've gained back 20lbs. I see it, I feel it and I'm ready to make a change. Its funny I started my journey back in 2010 weighing over 200lbs. with P90X, I lost about 20lbs, tons of inches and had to modify big time due to a fractured foot that happened by a freak accident taking my son to a soccer tournament. I moved on to various programs but the 1 that made the BIG difference for me was Les Mills PUMP followed by Combat, Les Mills is my soul mate program, with it I almost reached my ultimate goal of getting down to 140lbs, I got down to 153lbs from 170lbs. I completed T25 and loved it because of the time factor, 25 minutes yea who doesn't have time for that, I lost inches and a few lbs., but with everything going on in my life I gained what I lost right back plus some. So much has happened in my life in the last 6 months, I am not complaining, I am happy, I'm working again in a job I love, the love of my life and I got back together again, my middle son shipped out to Japan, so proud to call myself a Marine mom, miss him tons, getting ready to send out my oldest to the Airforce in March and dealing with teenage issues with my youngest who started HS this year. I am ready to start on my new health and fitness journey. My goal this year is to reach my goal of 140lbs, I am starting the new year with a new challenge to myself and a new program P90X3. Now that I am working again and I am short on time, you can't beat 30 mins. My goal with round 1 of P90X3 is to get back to 153lbs, where I was at the end of Combat and then I plan to dive into Body Beast or the 21 day fix or do another round of P90X3, not sure yet, but I know that by the end of 2014 I will be at my goal, NO EXCUSES... BRING IT! X3 style! Coach Yosie www.yosiefitness4life.com

Fitness is a LIFESTYLE not a FAD...

I started my health and fitness journey in Feb 2010 after years of struggling with my weight and trying everything possible, I was 20 lbs away from getting gastric bypass surgery. I went to see a surgeon and I was told I should try to do it the natural way, I contemplated gaining the 20 lbs to qualify for the surgery. I was fed up and disgusted and I turned to P90X, a few months later the scale was going down slowly, I decided to add Shakeology and that was my REAL turning point, after that every week I saw progress. There were times I had to stop my workouts because of all my health issues but I never stopped drinking Shakeology and slowly over the next 3 years I went from weighing 220 lbs to 150 lbs where I am today. I am a product of Shakeology and the BB fitness programs. I'm grateful for the day I decided enough was enough and turned to BB, I now realize its not a fad but a lifestyle and 1 I will be on for the rest of my life... BB changed my life so profoundly that I became a BB Coach to help others reach their goals and change their lives the way BB changed mines, being a BB Coach has been the best decision I've ever made, it has kept me accountable, on track with my own health and fitness journey and given me an avenue to help others and find my passion. Its given me a whole new family of like minded people that help me, support me, push me and are there for me all the time and has helped me make money doing what I love... BB ROCKS period, thank you to everyone that has supported me through all my ups and downs in my health and fitness journey, my goal is to help as many people as I can along the way and 1 day be able to do this full time...

So close to reaching my goal...

Today I am starting a new 30 day challenge group and Im restarting round 2 of Les Mills PUMP because I had to stop due to severe headaches my workouts, but thanks to Shakeology and portion control I am down to 160lbs, the smallest I have been in over 2 years, I am so excited I cant believe how close I am to reaching my goal of 145lbs thanks to the BB programs and nutrition. Becoming a BB coach and comitting to being an example has changed my life, and now thanks to LMP it has changed my body, I have never seen such amazing results, I am smaller, stronger, and feel better in my body than I have in a very long time, LMP is def my fave program because its given me RESULTS, I love the schedule, I love the music, I love the workouts I love everything about it, its the best of both worlds, weights and cardio, and I love the additional DVD LMP Combat its a kick ass kickboxing cardio workout that Im doing on my cardio days instead of walking, I can see my biceps, I can see my hamstrings, I can see my abs, I have more definition now than I did in my teens, and the ladies in my challenge group are such a joy, its an awesome way to help others and yourself stay acountable and make changes together, I cant thank BB enough for helping me turn my life around and help others do the same, when I started my journey I was 210 lbs I went down and back up for over 2 years and this year since March thanks to LMP I am finally down to 160lbs and only 15lbs away from my goal of 145lbs, and I feel great, its a great feeling to smile when you look in the mirror and like who is looking back at you... Thank you BB, LMP, Shakeology and everyone in the team BB fams, this is a great family to belong to, real people helping real people make changes, thats what its all about... Yosie

30 days in...

It has now been 30 days on Les Mills PUMP, tomorrow I start week 5 and I have lost a total of 9lbs and 11 inches, Im finally back in the 170s, weigh in today 179lbs, its been challenging and rewarding, I really love this program and the freedom it gives me, I get to get PUMPED 3 times a week and go to the gym to do Cardio/ABS 2 to 3 times a week, its a win/win for me and those that like me like going to the gym, this gives you the best of both words, home workouts and going to the gym, plus its a great program to have especially on those days that YOU DO NOT feel like working out, I learned something from Chalene Johnson she says when you dont feel like working out press play and if 5 mins later you still do not feel like working out turn it off but 9 out of 10 times you will get your workout in, thats so true cuz on days like that if I have to change, get in my car and drive to the gym, guess what Im not going, its much easier to press play and get it in... Tomorrow starts Phase 2, my next 30 day challenge and the next 4 weeks of PUMP, so looking forward to what this next phase brings, in my 1st 30 day challenge the girls did awesome they all stayed for this 1 and a few more jumped on the wagon, its about a group of ladies working together and holding each other accountable to our health and fitness, its an awesome way for all of us to reach our goals... It has now been 2 weeks on the Les Mills PUMP program and I am completely in love with it, I am on DVD #2 Pump n Burn and boy does it burn, Im doing over 120 squats and today for the 1st time I was able to get through the whole routine without stopping, what an amazing feeling... I am down 5 lbs and 8.5 inches, the girls in my 30 day challenge group are doing amazing too, we are all making progress in our health and fitness journey...What I love the most about this program is that in reality its a 3 day a week program, I do the Les Mills PUMP barbell routines on Mon, Wed and Fri, then Tues and Thurs and sometimes on the weekends, I add Cardio and ABS at the gym, so I to get to workout with my honey and help him with his clients too, so with this program I get the BEST of both worlds a GREAT HOME workout with room to go to the gym too. My health is doing well, thank God, its been a good 2 weeks, no pain, a headache here and there but nothing major, and thanks to my workouts, Shakeology and portion control I can see a light at the end of the tunnel again... Next Update in 2 weeks at the 30 day point in this 90 day program, LETS GO!

A NEW Beginning...

It has been a while since I have written due to health issues which put my fitness routine on the back burner, I still worked out but the consistency was not there. This year started rough for me, my Endometriosis is back, I had 1 of the worst bouts in over 2 years at the end of Jan/beginning of Feb that knocked me down for over 2 weeks, then last week I got an acute bout of Diverticulitis, something new to the mix of my health issues. I was in the hospital for almost a week and now I cannot eat anything with seeds or nuts and I have to be more aware of what I eat, thank goodness for Shakeology, my life saver once again... Last year my serotonin levels were so low I had to go back on anti-depressants that was a challenge all on its own, then the nose bleeds came back and the migraines and it was 1 thing after another, through it all I went back up to 192lbs, I managed to get back down to 178lbs until I went into the hospital. On Mon March 12th I was up to 188lbs, I started a new fitness journey that day with a new program Les Mills PUMP our new BB program and a 30 day Challenge with a small group. All I can say is that 3 days of eating clean, drinking Shakeology and working out has me feeling great, next weigh in is on March 25h, the 2 wk point and I cant wait to see what this program does for me. I am feeling like myself again, and looking forward to each new day. I turn 42 in July and I want to reach my goal this year of getting back down to 145lbs. One thing I have learned through this process is that fitness is not a luxury for me its a necessity and it has become part of my life, when I have to stop working out I miss it, for real, lol, I never thought I would say that, but its the truth, health and fitness is a lifestyle for me and 1 that I plan to stick with for the rest of my life... I am blessed to have a certified personal trainer for a fiance, Joe has been great, he supports me, pushes me and stands by me and also keeps me in check when I have to take a break to get better, having him by my side has made a huge difference in my life and I am so grateful to God for putting him in my life. Of coarse I have the support of my fams both my real fams and my whole BB fams too and it makes being on this journey so much easier and so much more enjoyable, it really makes a difference when you have people who believe in you. I am so grateful to BB for helping me turn my life around, if it wasnt for that informecial on P90X and people telling me about it I would of never gotten to where I am today, I know 1st hand that the BB programs work, I love going to the gym, but life happens and its not always easy to get to the gym, whether its finances, time, or anything else, its easy to say I cant go today, Ill go tomorrow, but having a program at home that you can pop in and press play makes all the difference in the world, I know it has for me. It made such an impact in my life that I became a BB Coach a decision that Im glad I made every single day, I love being able to help people attain their goals while keeping me accountable to reaching my own goals. I know first hand its not easy, I have tons of health issues, I have 3 kids, a full time job, and now a fiance, I have a LIFE, but thanks to BB I was able to make changes in my life that will be with me forever... I was in love with P90X until I did Chalene Extreme, I'm a weights kind of girl, I know from personal experience that you need resistance training to gain muscle and muscle is what BURNS fat, Cardio is great but you need weights too, and trust me YOU DO NOT bulk up, thats a myth, women have less testosterone than men the hormone that makes you get bulky so GO FOR IT, add the weights and you will see your body transform like never before, Chalene Extreme quickly became my favorite workout from BB until NOW, Les Mills just became my number 1 workout for sure, it gives you the Cardio we all need with the resistance we need, the BEST of both worlds and the REP EFFECT is NO JOKE and Im only on disc 1 Pump Challenge the basics thats only 30 mins long, I cant wait to dive into the rest of the program... Fitness is NOT a fad its a lifestyle... On March 12, I began my new fitness journey at 188lbs, Im looking forward to seeing what happens in the next 90 days with Les Mills PUMP! I'm PUMPED!!! LETS GO!

Until next time, Yosie

Update on My Constant Struggle

It has now been 3 and half months since I went back on anti-depressants, not an easy subject for me to talk about but thank goodness I am doing well. I hardly have any headaches and my weight has stabalized, now trying to lose the weight I had gained from being on the harmones for my Endometriosis. Depression is not easy it can disguise itself in many ways, I didnt feel depressed at the time my doctor put me on meds, actually, I was happier than I had been in ages but the physical signs were there, sleeping to much, tired all the time, hardly any energy and of coarse the terrible headaches, now that I been on the meds for over 3 months all those symptoms are gone. I am really glad I decided to get on the meds cuz a few weeks after that I lost my job and God knows if I hadnt been on meds already I would of spinned into a deep depression. Im still not working Im collecting unemployment and thanking God everyday for my BB biz cuz its helped a lot. My finances are not were I want them to be and Im looking for work but I can handle it cuz I am back on the meds, I have a great support system and Im keeping up with my exercise and nutrition.

I seem to be stuck between 184lbs and 188lbs but I have dropped inches and I do not let the scale discourage me, I workout 5 to 6 days a week, replace 1 meal with Shakeology, use portion control the rest of the day and take my meds every single day. Exercise is a way of life for me now, its no longer about losing weight its about being healthy and staying healthy and thanks to exercise, Shakeology and Joe pushing me in a loving way, I am reaching my goals slowly but surely... I love that he is so understanding, he motivates me and keeps me accountable, working out with him ROCKS!!!

Depression in my case is an ongoing battle 1 that I know I will struggle with most of my life but 1 that is manageable thanks to the meds, exercise, nutrition and support from those close to me. People seem to think that depression is a symptom of weakness well Im here to tell you its not, its a disease like any other disease and it doesnt mean you are crazy well just a little, arent we all??? No seriously its a serious illness and should be treated just like any other illness would. YOU CAN LIVE with depression, I am living proof of that! I have a wonderful support system, I have a great family that loves me, I have a wonderful fiance that God totally blessed me with and I have great friends that are there for me, yes life is not easy, being out of work sucks, but I am living each and everyday with joy in my life. We serve an amazing God and he knows exactly what we need and when, sometimes we feel like our prayers are not answered but they are, just on Gods time not ours... I live everyday to the fullest, and I take it day by day.

God is GOOD, we just have to rememer that and take care of what we need to no matter whats going on in our lives...Do not let any situation rob you of your joy, happiness is a choice and I CHOOSE to be HAPPY...
