looking back...

This has been quite a year for me, I started it weighing almost 200lbs, I finally decided to do something about it in Feb when I picked up the phone and ordered my copy of P90X.

I started P90X on March 15th, a few weeks into the program I sprained my elbow washing my SUV, a few weeks after that I fractured my foot missing a step and falling, I continued to push forward even through the injuries and I completed my 1st round of P90X with some modifications. I went down to 178 lbs from 194 lbs and I lost 26 inches all around, since then I have tried over and over again to complete another program but without much success, I tried starting Insanity and 2 weeks into the program had to stop because my foot was hurting so bad. I went back to the Ortho and found out my fracture was re-fracturing and I had to stop and take a few weeks off. I tried to start a 2nd round of P90X and then I started getting massive nosebleeds, had to get on medication and stop working out again, after almost 2 months of start and stop because of the nosebleeds they finally stopped.

Next up was TurboJam, loved it got through a few weeks and was doing good,so I ordered TurboFire and started that a week into it I got Bronchitis and was so sick I could not workout, had to take almost 2 weeks off. Started TurboFire again and then came the COLD weather, colder than its been in ages in So Flo and my foot started up again, had to put my workouts on hold, again, last week it was hurting so bad that I got my foot x-rayed and found out that the bone healed correctly in the bottom but the top healed mis-aligned and thats why its hurting so bad. The Ortho said I have to stay off of it for a while so the inflammation around the bone goes down and he gave me anti-inflammatory's to take.

Here it is Dec 18th and I havent been able to complete another program or round of P90X, however I have learned that Fitness is not a FAD it is a lifestyle and I will continue to get up every time I fall, so no matter what life throws ahead of me I will continue to push forward in my fitness journey...

Starting Monday, Dec 20th I am going to start P90X again and then come Jan 3rd I will start TurboFire again, my goals for 2011 is to COMPLETE TurboFire, move my workouts to the morning, lose 50lbs and continue my health and fitness routine.

I may not have accomplished my goals in 2010 but I worked on them and Im not giving up on them, I will continue to make new goals and continue to push forward in 2011.

I have gained 10lbs back I am weighing 188lbs but I will not let that bring me down, I know that the only way to fail is to quit. So New YEAR, new goals and new dreams ahead...

Its time to stop looking back and start looking forward...

It's your life, choose wisely...

From the American Heart Association:

GET ACTIVE: Finding time in our overscheduled lives for exercise is a challenge for all busy Americans. Especially for those who are parents or are working full-time or both. But the benefits far outweigh the sacrifices it takes to carve out that time. And anyone who has successfully managed to do so will tell you how happy they are to have found the time. They’ll tell you how much more energy they have, and how they are actually able to do more than before they started getting regular exercise. So no more excuses! Take an active role in determining your future. You deserve to give yourself the gift of living well with good health.

Why is Getting Active So Important? The facts are clear: By exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk of heart disease. Without regular physical activity, the body slowly loses its strength and ability to function well. Physical activity = living a longer, healthier life.

Regular Physical Activity Helps: Lower blood pressure, increase HDL “good” cholesterol in your blood, control blood sugar by improving how your body uses insulin, reduce feelings of stress, control body weight and make you feel good about yourself.

American Heart Association Guidelines We suggest at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise. Or a combination of moderate and vigorous. Physical activity is anything that makes you move your body and burns calories, such as climbing stairs or playing sports. Aerobic exercises benefit your heart, such as walking, jogging, swimming or biking. Strength and stretching exercises are best for overall stamina and flexibility.

LOSE WEIGHT: Among Americans age 20 and older, 145 million are overweight or obese (BMI of 25.0 kg/m2 and higher). That’s 76.9 million men and 68.1 million women. This is of great concern especially since obesity is now recognized as a major, independent risk factor for heart disease. If you have too much fat — especially if a lot of it is at your waist — you're at higher risk for such health problems as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol and diabetes.

If you're overweight or obese, you can reduce your risk for heart disease by successfully losing weight and keeping it off. When coming up with a fitness and nutrition plan to lose weight, it’s crucial to understand your recommended calorie intake. And then the amount of food calories you’re consuming verses the energy calories you’re burning off with different levels of physical activity. It’s a matter of balancing healthy eating (caloric energy) with the (molecular) energy that leaves your body through a healthy level of exercise.

What is BMI? Body mass index assesses your body weight relative to height. It's a useful, indirect measure of body composition because it correlates highly with body fat in most people. To calculate your exact BMI value, multiply your weight in pounds by 703, divide by your height in inches, then divide again by your height in inches.

The benefits of maintaining a healthy weight go far beyond improved energy and smaller clothing sizes. By losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight, you are also likely to enjoy these quality-of-life factors too.

Fewer joint and muscle pains Greater ability to join in desired activities Better regulation of bodily fluids and blood pressure Reduced burden on your heart and circulatory system Better sleep patterns More effective metabolism of sugars and carbohydrates Reduced risk for heart disease and certain cancers Your BMI is a good indicator of whether you're at a healthy or unhealthy weight. Find your BMI and what it means with our handy BMI Calculator.

BMI stands for Body Mass Index This is a numerical value of your weight in relation to your height. BMIs are good indicators of healthy or unhealthy weights for adult men and women, regardless of body frame size. A BMI of less than 25 indicates a healthy weight. A BMI of less than 18.5 is considered underweight. A BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight. A BMI of 30 or higher indicates obesity. Excess weight increases the heart's work. It also raises blood pressure and blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels and lowers HDL (good) cholesterol levels. It can make diabetes more likely to develop, too. Losing as few as 10 pounds can lower your heart disease risk.

Amazing...

It amazes me how excited and fired up I get when ever I talk to any one about Shakeology. You see for me its been a life changing experience. Yes its helped me lose weight and that's great but the truth is the reason I believe in it, stand behind it and recommend it to everyone I know is because of how much its helped improve my health, yes I make a commission on it, but SERIOUSLY its because of the benefits that it offers that I stand behind it, I would not recommend anything to anyone that I didn't believe in myself, and I am PASSIONATE about Shakeology! WHY? Cuz before I started drinking the shakes my blood pressure was border line high, my cholesterol was high even with diet and exercise, my doctor was about to put me on meds to lower my cholesterol, and my Anemia which Ive suffered from my whole life was so bad I had to have a blood transfusion last year, and since drinking Shakeology ALL that and I mean ALL of it is gone. No more problems with my blood pressure its been 110 over 70, my cholesterol is the best its ever been, 168, and my Hgb is normal right in the middle of the reference guide (12-16), mines is 14, and on top of the health benefits, its helped clear my skin, Ive suffered from hormonal acne since HS, its helped my hair and nails grow, its regulated my sleep, I sleep better now even when I sleep less, and it gives me energy, even when I'm tired from a long day or a late night. And of coarse its helped me to lose weight, about a 1 to 2 lbs a week. Its miraculous, I swear it, and its something I will drink for the rest of my life, I mean 1 glass of a totally delicious chocolate shake instead of tons of pills for this and that, no more multi-vitamins, no more iron horse pills, no more extra fiber to contradict the side effects of the iron pills, no meds for cholesterol, no meds for blood pressure, no pills to control my hormones and acne flare ups, I mean it doesn't take a GENIUS to see which 1 is better. PLUS it tastes like dessert, I feel like I'm cheating every time I drink a glass for breakfast, you can add things to make it even better and its a no brainer, just put a scoop in the blender, add water and/or milk and ice and go, its easy, its fast, its convenient, and its less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks with less calories and all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs, and equals the daily fruits and veggies your body needs ALL in 1 glass. Now that's AMAZING...

And as a person thats been around Diabetes her whole life THIS especially is HUGE to me, I grew up seeing my grandmother suffer with Diabetes, giving herself insulin shots 3 times a day for most of my life and when I got older I was the 1 that gave her the shots and it killed me to have to give them to her cuz she had no muscle left to inject every part of her body where I could give her the shots was so firm and tough from all the years of getting shots that it hurt me as much as it hurt her to get the shots. I work with someone who Ive gotten close to and shes been a diabetic for the last 22 years, shes been on Insulin shots for the last 18 years and she started drinking Shakeology around Feb, before I even knew about it, when I told her I became a coach and that I was taking it she was ecstatic for me, and a few months ago she came down to my office in tears crying and scared the hell out of me all cuz after being on Shakeology for several months her Glucose (sugar) levels where so good that her doctor (mines too) took her OFF the Insulin shots, did you get that HE TOOK HER OFF the Insulin shots and put her on Metformin a pill version of Insulin, NO MORE SHOTS, that is HUGE, I was so happy for her, cuz I knew to well what that meant for her and the doctor said that if she continues how shes going he will take her off the pills too, CAN YOU IMAGINE that????

Shakeology TRULY and REALLY is the HEALTHIEST meal of the day, NO JOKE, its why I HONESTLY and FULL HEARTEDLY believe in it, stand behind it, and recommend it. Its a LIFELINE! It is TOTALLY worth EVERY single penny no matter how much it costs, at $120 a month it comes out to about $4 a day, isn't YOUR health worth $4 a day, I know mines is...
