looking back...

This has been quite a year for me, I started it weighing almost 200lbs, I finally decided to do something about it in Feb when I picked up the phone and ordered my copy of P90X.

I started P90X on March 15th, a few weeks into the program I sprained my elbow washing my SUV, a few weeks after that I fractured my foot missing a step and falling, I continued to push forward even through the injuries and I completed my 1st round of P90X with some modifications. I went down to 178 lbs from 194 lbs and I lost 26 inches all around, since then I have tried over and over again to complete another program but without much success, I tried starting Insanity and 2 weeks into the program had to stop because my foot was hurting so bad. I went back to the Ortho and found out my fracture was re-fracturing and I had to stop and take a few weeks off. I tried to start a 2nd round of P90X and then I started getting massive nosebleeds, had to get on medication and stop working out again, after almost 2 months of start and stop because of the nosebleeds they finally stopped.

Next up was TurboJam, loved it got through a few weeks and was doing good,so I ordered TurboFire and started that a week into it I got Bronchitis and was so sick I could not workout, had to take almost 2 weeks off. Started TurboFire again and then came the COLD weather, colder than its been in ages in So Flo and my foot started up again, had to put my workouts on hold, again, last week it was hurting so bad that I got my foot x-rayed and found out that the bone healed correctly in the bottom but the top healed mis-aligned and thats why its hurting so bad. The Ortho said I have to stay off of it for a while so the inflammation around the bone goes down and he gave me anti-inflammatory's to take.

Here it is Dec 18th and I havent been able to complete another program or round of P90X, however I have learned that Fitness is not a FAD it is a lifestyle and I will continue to get up every time I fall, so no matter what life throws ahead of me I will continue to push forward in my fitness journey...

Starting Monday, Dec 20th I am going to start P90X again and then come Jan 3rd I will start TurboFire again, my goals for 2011 is to COMPLETE TurboFire, move my workouts to the morning, lose 50lbs and continue my health and fitness routine.

I may not have accomplished my goals in 2010 but I worked on them and Im not giving up on them, I will continue to make new goals and continue to push forward in 2011.

I have gained 10lbs back I am weighing 188lbs but I will not let that bring me down, I know that the only way to fail is to quit. So New YEAR, new goals and new dreams ahead...

Its time to stop looking back and start looking forward...

It's your life, choose wisely...

From the American Heart Association:

GET ACTIVE: Finding time in our overscheduled lives for exercise is a challenge for all busy Americans. Especially for those who are parents or are working full-time or both. But the benefits far outweigh the sacrifices it takes to carve out that time. And anyone who has successfully managed to do so will tell you how happy they are to have found the time. They’ll tell you how much more energy they have, and how they are actually able to do more than before they started getting regular exercise. So no more excuses! Take an active role in determining your future. You deserve to give yourself the gift of living well with good health.

Why is Getting Active So Important? The facts are clear: By exercising for as little as 30 minutes each day you can reduce your risk of heart disease. Without regular physical activity, the body slowly loses its strength and ability to function well. Physical activity = living a longer, healthier life.

Regular Physical Activity Helps: Lower blood pressure, increase HDL “good” cholesterol in your blood, control blood sugar by improving how your body uses insulin, reduce feelings of stress, control body weight and make you feel good about yourself.

American Heart Association Guidelines We suggest at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise or 75 minutes per week of vigorous exercise. Or a combination of moderate and vigorous. Physical activity is anything that makes you move your body and burns calories, such as climbing stairs or playing sports. Aerobic exercises benefit your heart, such as walking, jogging, swimming or biking. Strength and stretching exercises are best for overall stamina and flexibility.

LOSE WEIGHT: Among Americans age 20 and older, 145 million are overweight or obese (BMI of 25.0 kg/m2 and higher). That’s 76.9 million men and 68.1 million women. This is of great concern especially since obesity is now recognized as a major, independent risk factor for heart disease. If you have too much fat — especially if a lot of it is at your waist — you're at higher risk for such health problems as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol and diabetes.

If you're overweight or obese, you can reduce your risk for heart disease by successfully losing weight and keeping it off. When coming up with a fitness and nutrition plan to lose weight, it’s crucial to understand your recommended calorie intake. And then the amount of food calories you’re consuming verses the energy calories you’re burning off with different levels of physical activity. It’s a matter of balancing healthy eating (caloric energy) with the (molecular) energy that leaves your body through a healthy level of exercise.

What is BMI? Body mass index assesses your body weight relative to height. It's a useful, indirect measure of body composition because it correlates highly with body fat in most people. To calculate your exact BMI value, multiply your weight in pounds by 703, divide by your height in inches, then divide again by your height in inches.

The benefits of maintaining a healthy weight go far beyond improved energy and smaller clothing sizes. By losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight, you are also likely to enjoy these quality-of-life factors too.

Fewer joint and muscle pains Greater ability to join in desired activities Better regulation of bodily fluids and blood pressure Reduced burden on your heart and circulatory system Better sleep patterns More effective metabolism of sugars and carbohydrates Reduced risk for heart disease and certain cancers Your BMI is a good indicator of whether you're at a healthy or unhealthy weight. Find your BMI and what it means with our handy BMI Calculator.

BMI stands for Body Mass Index This is a numerical value of your weight in relation to your height. BMIs are good indicators of healthy or unhealthy weights for adult men and women, regardless of body frame size. A BMI of less than 25 indicates a healthy weight. A BMI of less than 18.5 is considered underweight. A BMI between 25 and 29.9 is considered overweight. A BMI of 30 or higher indicates obesity. Excess weight increases the heart's work. It also raises blood pressure and blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels and lowers HDL (good) cholesterol levels. It can make diabetes more likely to develop, too. Losing as few as 10 pounds can lower your heart disease risk.

Is it really worth it to NOT stop and start taking care of YOU today??? I can help, contact me for more info: http://yosiefitness4life.com/

Amazing...

It amazes me how excited and fired up I get when ever I talk to any one about Shakeology. You see for me its been a life changing experience. Yes its helped me lose weight and that's great but the truth is the reason I believe in it, stand behind it and recommend it to everyone I know is because of how much its helped improve my health, yes I make a commission on it, but SERIOUSLY its because of the benefits that it offers that I stand behind it, I would not recommend anything to anyone that I didn't believe in myself, and I am PASSIONATE about Shakeology! WHY? Cuz before I started drinking the shakes my blood pressure was border line high, my cholesterol was high even with diet and exercise, my doctor was about to put me on meds to lower my cholesterol, and my Anemia which Ive suffered from my whole life was so bad I had to have a blood transfusion last year, and since drinking Shakeology ALL that and I mean ALL of it is gone. No more problems with my blood pressure its been 110 over 70, my cholesterol is the best its ever been, 168, and my Hgb is normal right in the middle of the reference guide (12-16), mines is 14, and on top of the health benefits, its helped clear my skin, Ive suffered from hormonal acne since HS, its helped my hair and nails grow, its regulated my sleep, I sleep better now even when I sleep less, and it gives me energy, even when I'm tired from a long day or a late night. And of coarse its helped me to lose weight, about a 1 to 2 lbs a week. Its miraculous, I swear it, and its something I will drink for the rest of my life, I mean 1 glass of a totally delicious chocolate shake instead of tons of pills for this and that, no more multi-vitamins, no more iron horse pills, no more extra fiber to contradict the side effects of the iron pills, no meds for cholesterol, no meds for blood pressure, no pills to control my hormones and acne flare ups, I mean it doesn't take a GENIUS to see which 1 is better. PLUS it tastes like dessert, I feel like I'm cheating every time I drink a glass for breakfast, you can add things to make it even better and its a no brainer, just put a scoop in the blender, add water and/or milk and ice and go, its easy, its fast, its convenient, and its less than a cup of coffee at Starbucks with less calories and all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs, and equals the daily fruits and veggies your body needs ALL in 1 glass. Now that's AMAZING...

And as a person thats been around Diabetes her whole life THIS especially is HUGE to me, I grew up seeing my grandmother suffer with Diabetes, giving herself insulin shots 3 times a day for most of my life and when I got older I was the 1 that gave her the shots and it killed me to have to give them to her cuz she had no muscle left to inject every part of her body where I could give her the shots was so firm and tough from all the years of getting shots that it hurt me as much as it hurt her to get the shots. I work with someone who Ive gotten close to and shes been a diabetic for the last 22 years, shes been on Insulin shots for the last 18 years and she started drinking Shakeology around Feb, before I even knew about it, when I told her I became a coach and that I was taking it she was ecstatic for me, and a few months ago she came down to my office in tears crying and scared the hell out of me all cuz after being on Shakeology for several months her Glucose (sugar) levels where so good that her doctor (mines too) took her OFF the Insulin shots, did you get that HE TOOK HER OFF the Insulin shots and put her on Metformin a pill version of Insulin, NO MORE SHOTS, that is HUGE, I was so happy for her, cuz I knew to well what that meant for her and the doctor said that if she continues how shes going he will take her off the pills too, CAN YOU IMAGINE that????

Shakeology TRULY and REALLY is the HEALTHIEST meal of the day, NO JOKE, its why I HONESTLY and FULL HEARTEDLY believe in it, stand behind it, and recommend it. Its a LIFELINE! It is TOTALLY worth EVERY single penny no matter how much it costs, at $120 a month it comes out to about $4 a day, isn't YOUR health worth $4 a day, I know mines is...

Starting over...

Today has been a rough day for me, emotionally, and physically. After 2 weeks of doing my P90X/Insanity Hybrid my foot has been killing me. I fractured it at the end of April, I was in a soft cast/boot for 7 weeks and its now almost October and I am still having problems with it. The bone never healed properly so I have 2 choices put up with the pain (for now) or have surgery. Well surgery is out of the question, I can not take time off right now from work, being a single mom with 3 kids and most of my family far away, I need to keep working, so no surgery. Icy Hot is quickly becoming my best friend, and I may have to modify my workouts AGAIN, which is putting a damper on how I feel right now. I officially became a P90X graduate in June and since then its been a roller coaster of a ride with my workouts, modify, start, stop start, stop and start again, its driving me crazy to say the least, but I am determined to continue pressing forward. I will not let this get in my way. I am taking the rest of this week off and resting my foot, taking anti-inflammatory meds to help with the swelling and inflammation and starting over AGAIN on Monday, hopefully with some rest my foot will feel better. When I started on this journey I was weighing 194lbs, I am down to 178lbs, I still have a ways to go before I get to where I want to be but for the 1st time in I don't know how long I know I am going to get there, and get there the right way, with clean eating, Shakeology and exercise, no gimmicks, no diet pills, no starving, no Yo-YO dieting, I'm getting their the healthy way, the right way!

We all have our ups and downs and we all fall of the wagon, what matters is not why or how we fell down, but how we get back up. What we do when we fall is what makes us who we are, the way I see it, we have 2 choices every time we fall, we either stay down and quit or we get back up and keep on fighting, well I am not a quitter so for me its get up and keep on fighting, no matter how many times I have to stop and start again, I will continue to do so, because for me FITNESS is NOT a FAD, it is a LIFESTYLE! I'm changing me 1 day at a time, 1 workout at time, BRING IT!

FULL SPEED AHEAD... Knocked down but NOT defeated!

I started on my fitness journey on March 15th when I did my 1st day of P90X, within a week I could see and feel the difference, I was getting stronger, I was getting smaller, inches were dropping, lbs were dropping things were going GREAT about 3 weeks into the program I sprained my elbow, I had to use a brace and modify my workouts, went from doing push-ups on the floor to doing them on the wall to take the pressure off, but it was cool, I was still pressing play everyday and I was still BRINGING IT, then I get to the end of my 5th week and I slip and fall and fracture my foot in 3 places, I ended up in a cast for 7 and a half weeks, at 1st I was bummed but then I modified my workouts and continued to push on, I became best friends with my chair and did my routines sitting down, I had to replace Plyo with Kenpo X cuz I could do it sitting down, modified, when Tony kicked I used my arms instead, and I replaced legs and back with chest and back I got through the last 7 weeks of my 1st round of P90X doing it modified with my new BFF my chair!

When I started I couldnt do a single pull-up or push-up unless I was on my knees, and I could only do 2 or 3 side tri-raises but after 12 weeks I was able to do 25 side tri-raises, about 20 pull-ups and I could do REAL push-ups without using my knees! My final results blew me away, even with having to modify my workouts I was still able to lose 12.5 lbs, 25 inches all around, 10 inches from my waist alone, and drop from a size 14 to a size 9 in jeans! I was impressed. Between Shakeology and P90X I was GETTING REAL results, better and faster than when I PAID to go the GYM, it made me a TRUE believer.

When the cast came off the Ortho said I had to stay off my foot for a week but since I was back at work I was so tired and hurting that I came home and got in bed. I stopped ALL my workouts! When I went to see the Ortho again the Xrays looked good, the foot felt good, so he gave me the OK to start Insanity with caution, he was familiar with the fitness program and told me to listen to my body if my foot started to hurt to stop. I was so psyched about going Insane, I started Insanity, and I can tell you 1st hand NOW I know why they named it that, cuz you have to be completely INSANE to tackle that program, but I loved it, after I was done I looked like I had just stepped in from the rain and in 2 weeks I lost another 4 lbs and 6 more inches all around, I was psyched, but my foot was hurting, at 1st I tried to ignore it, I didnt want to stop doing Insanity but I couldnt take the pain anymore and went to see the Ortho again, the Xrays showed that were the bones had fused together NOW they were starting to separate, he told me NO MORE INSANITY or I would need surgery to fix my foot and would be out for about 6 months!!!

I took 2 weeks off and then started ROUND 2 of P90X, with a modified schedule prepared for me by my Ortho, NO PLYO, and NO Legs and Back, at 1st I substituted Cardio X for Plyo but after the 1st week I found there was a bit too much jumping in that too and ended up having to take another week off to rest my foot! After a week off, I used Kenpo X on my Cardio days, not an issue for me since its my FAVORITE routine from the program. Got through week 3 when I came down with a bad cold and started getting nosebleeds that would leave me feeling faint, dizzy and with a MAJOR headache! I went to the doctor and he said I had a sinus infection and put me on antibiotics and told me to take it easy, to stop working out and get as much rest as possible, of coarse thats easier said than done being a single mom with 3 kids and a full time job. I was bummed!

I started Round 2 again! I was doing good for almost 2 weeks when the nosebleeds started again and this time they were more frequent sometimes several in 1 day and the headaches were driving me crazy, there were days when I could not workout so my daily routine started to suffer, the doctor sent me to see a specialist,an ENT to make sure its nothing serious. I went to see him today, he said the nosebleeds are from a thinned blood vessel but nothing serious the headaches are from the pressure, he gave me drops 2 use that should thicken the vessel and stop the nosebleeds, and said 2 take it easy until I see him next week. If that doesn't work then Ill need minor surgery 2 repair the vessel. So AGAIN I have to put my workouts on hold, when I started on my fitness journey my goal was to lose 20 to 30 lbs by my 40th bday, well that didnt happen, but at least I can say that even with all the bumps in the road I have managed to keep the the weight that I lost off and continue to lose 1 to 2 lbs a week thanks to Shakeology, I SWEAR by it and its DEFINITELY my secret weapon to healthy weight loss even when I cant work out consistently.

So as of today P90X is OFFICIALLY on hold AGAIN, I would be fibbing if I said I'm not bummed, I TRULY LOVE my workouts they are not only good for the body they are good for the mind and soul too, I miss it when I dont workout! Ive gained so much since starting on this journey, I have a whole new family of genuinely caring people with Team Beachbody, Ive seen REAL RESULTS not just in me but in people around me, I am PROUD to be a Team Beachbody Coach, and to have 2 coaches under me that share the same passion for health and fitness as I do, Im sooo PROUD of them! Plus the joy I get from helping others achieve their goals is amazing! I NOW know that fitness is NOT a FAD its a LIFESTYLE!

With the help of my SECRET WEAPON Shakeology I will continue to lose weight not as fast as when Im doing my workouts, but I WILL achieve my goals, because I DECIDED to COMMIT and I know I WILL SUCCEED! So full speed ahead, I may be knocked down but Im NOT defeated, I WILL continue to PRESS forward!

What Beachbody Coaching is ALL about...

Many people have asked me what this 'coaching thing' is, that I'm doing. And I have never been so excited and confident in the information Im giving about being a Beachbody Coach. Beachbody has given me the opportunity to change my life from the inside out, and its helping me achieve my goals 1 workout at a time, 1 day at time and helping me make extra cash $$$$ at the same time!

What do 'Coaches' do:
1)I commit to a fitness/nutrition programs (at 25% discount) that has been tested to work!
2)I keep track of my progress, and share it with others.
3)I get others to join me, and we hold each other accountable
4)I sign them up as coaches, so that they can spread the news... just as I have done.
5)I help my personal coaches build their business.

How do 'Coaches' get paid:
1)Commission: Getting someone started on their weight loss journey, through a Beachbody product
2)Recruiting: Tackling obesity in huge numbers pays off.. physically and financially!
3)Bonuses: Helping your team become successful, makes you successful. Beachbody rewards you for this.

Frequently asked questions:
1)“I'm not quite at my weight goal yet. I'll consider coaching once I'm in shape”
Start now! You're in the same shoes as your potential customers. The only difference is that you are proactive. They can relate to someone who is “not quite there yet” vs. the intimidating buff guy. Plus tracking extreme progress, makes results seem even more achievable. Others will take notice and want to know exactly what you did... “Well, this Beachbody program...”
I stated Coaching at the end of April of this year 2010, no where near my ideal weight!

2)“I hate to sell. I'm not much of a people-person, neither”
I have tried sales business like Avon, and other things but Im just not good at selling stuff, this is easy because its something that Im doing personally, I use the Beachbody products, I see the results, it works so talking to people about it is easy, its about sharing my own experiences with others and helping them want to get results too, and its easy you send them to your website and Beachbody takes care of everything, they take the orders, they ship it, they handle it all, so you dont have to worry about inventory and money, you just share what works, its the passion behind getting REAL results that appeals to REAL people. Coaches don't sell we recommend what has worked for us. Just like you recommended the newest hair product or movie to your friends. If you notice, I hardly ever talk about the dozens of other products Beachbody sells. Yes, they have worked for millions of others.. but I haven't tried it out yet. I'm a diehard P90X and Shakeology fan! Shakeology is awesome! When I drop a pound from either of them, you can bet I will do a status update about it. I'm proud of my success, if it sparks your interests and you become my customer, that's great also!

3) “I don't have time to start a business”
Too busy sorry that excuse has already been taken. Top coach, Traci Morrow, is a mother of SIX, and Im a single mother of THREE, with no help from their dad, and I have a full time job, and Im doing it, so can you!
Every time I sign onto Facebook, out of my own enjoyment, I'm signing into 'work' to answer fitness/diet questions. As a coach, you are your own boss. You promote when you want, or not at all. Now of course, the more time you put in, the faster your business will grow. Another way that I 'work', is keeping Shakeology samples/pamphlets on me you never know when you'll run into someone who randomly mentions that they are trying to eat clean.

*For those non-coaches who have already used a Beachbody product didn't you brag about your results and give endless tips to anyone who would listen?? Why not do the same thing, and get rewarded financially for doing it? Get paid to tell others about your success, its how I started I was doing P90X for a over a month before I became a Coach, and I was already talking up a storm about how GREAT P90X was, and I wanted to start Shakeology at 25% off even with the Coaching dues ($14.95 a month) Im still saving about $20 bucks each month, that adds up, its like getting a Shakeology bag for free about every 4 months, now thats a DEAL!!!*

** If you're interested in taking the next step, or want more information take a minute to look at this quick video: http://beachbodycoach.com/esuite/home/yosie0721?bctid=41922032001, then message me, I would love to tell you more about it!** You can contact me directly by clicking on Contact Me at: http://yosiefitness4life.com/

Im a product of their product and I believe with all my heart in this company and what its doing, I would never recommend or suggest anything I didnt feel passionate about first... For me its not P90X its P4lifeX, I completed my 1st round and Im on round 2 of P90X. Beachbody is changing my life 1 workout at time, 1 day at time, and it can help you too!

I am 40 years old today...

Im 40 years old today and even with a bummed foot I feel better than I did a year ago, at this time last year my endometiosis started acting up and by Aug I had to go on harmones and by Nov I had put on 40lbs, I ended up having surgery in Nov and was out of commission for a while, in Feb I went to my nieces Bday and a few days later when I saw the pics I started crying, I looked HUGE, my niece was talking about starting P90X and my son had been bugging me about getting it, I finally said lets do it, and on March 15th I started Round 1 of my P90X journey, it wasn't easy the 1st few weeks were killer and I couldn't do a single real push-up I had to do them on my knees, the pull-ups were a mission even with the chair, and Ab Ripper X forget about it, at the end of week 5 on my way to my sons soccer tournament I slipped, and fell a really stupid fall I ended up fracturing my foot in 3 pieces, was put in a cast for 7 weeks but I fought through it and kept pressing play, I modified my workouts, added a chair, and basically worked on my upper body, once the cast came off I took 2 weeks off and then with the ok of my doctor started Insanity after 2 weeks my foot started giving me problems and when I got it checked out the doctor said it was starting to re-fracture and I had to stop doing Insanity, I took a few days off and started Round 2 of P90X last Monday, today I'm half way through week 2 and I'm happy to say that even with all the bumps Ive had since I started on my quest to get healthy and get my shape back, I'm starting to like the woman looking back at me in the mirror, I'm no where near where I want to be but its a great feeling to know I'm going in the right direction. Thanks to P90X, Insanity and Shakeology I have lost a total of 18lbs, and 28inches all around, 11 of them from my waist alone, and I am leaner, stronger and in better shape than I was last year even though I weighed less than I do now, its not about the number in the scale its about how your clothes fit and how you feel. On top of the weight coming off, Shakeology has helped me to lower my Cholesterol I was at the brink of getting on pills and my Anemia is NON EXISTENT, I dont have to take those huge iron pills any more, my hair is growing super fast and its super healthy and my nails are growing stronger too, and even my skin is clearing up, I cant say enough about Shakeology IT REALLY is the HEALTHIEST meal of the day, and if thats not enough a friend and co-worker of mines that has been diabetic for half her life and on insulin injections for the last 10 years has been using Shakeology along with diet and exercise and her doctor took her OFF the insulin injections, that is a BIG DEAL, she is now taking insulin pills instead and the doctor told her if she keeps going as well as she is he might take her off those too, its no wonder Shakeology and Beachbody have the backing of the American Diabetic Assoc, we are helping people everyday change their life for the better, Obesity is an epidemic that is out of control, and leads to many diseases including Diabetes, I thank God everyday I made the decision to change my life, to get off my butt and do something about the woman that was staring at me in the mirror. I have 3 wonderfull young men and I want to live long enough to enjoy them and enjoy my grandchildren too, when I look back at that day I picked up the phone and ordered P90X it brings tears of joy because Beachbody has changed my life, so much so that I became a Coach even though I wasn't at my goal weight and I had no experience my desire came from seeing REAL results and wanting to help others do the same, this Monday I signed my 1st Coach to my team and it brought me such joy to know that what I do can help someone make a decision to change their life too, you cant put a price tag on your health and you cant put a price tag on the joy helping someone else gives you either. The best thing about Beachbody is that it not only offers you great fitness programs that you can do from the comfort of your own home on your own time and for a lot less than it costs to go to the gym, they also give you tools to use with your nutrition including adding a nutritional guide with every fitness program and offering a variety of supplements to help you achieve your fitness goals and on top of that they offer you SUPPORT the 1 thing that is what keeps every beachbody member pressing play even when they dont want to, there is no one to motivate you at the gym but there will ALWAYS be someone to motivate you in Beachbody, thats a COMPLETE package, FITNESS, NUTRITION and SUPPORT, what more can anyone else ask for, and if thats not enough they offer you a way to make money while you are getting fit and getting in the best shape of your life, I know I cant ask for anything more, I LOVE being a part of such an amazing company, becoming a Team Beachbody Coach was the best and smartest decision Ive ever made since that day I picked up the phone and ordered P90X.

If you are ready to make a change in your life, I am here to tell you that there is a program for you at Beachbody no matter what you are looking for we have it and they all come with a money back guarantee, and I am here to help you achieve your goals, one workout at a time, one day at a time.

Day 1 of Insanity

OMG they SURE chose the right name for this program, cuz you have to be insane to do it! I'm happy to say I completed my 1st fit test, I didn't do as good as I would have liked to but considering I haven't worked out in 2 weeks and that I was in a cast without really doing much cardio for 7 weeks I think I did pretty good, and my foot does NOT HURT, yayyyy!, I cant wait to see how I do on the next fit test on day 15. I am proud to say I did better than my oldest son who did not do P90X with me, lets see how my middle 1 does on his fit test, he was my P90X partner! Day 1 of Insanity is in the BOOKS!

In total honesty, since I only preach what I do, here are my fit test results:

Switch kicks: 66
power jacks: 25
power knees: 50
power jumps: 25
globe jumps: 5
suicide jumps: 10
push-up jacks: 10
low plank oblique: 25

My favorites have to be power knees and low plank obliques, lol, I'm ready to DIG DEEP!

Going INSANE

I'm so excited about finally being able to start Insanity it felt like it took forever but I'm really glad I listened to the docs and took the extra time to heal. My foot is finally pain free, although I will modify if and as necessary I have the GREEN light from my doctor to start the Insanity fitness program. Round 1 of P90X along with Shakeology gave me X-cellent results, I lost a total of 12lbs, 25 inches all around and dropped 2 jean sizes. It made me stronger, leaner and ready to take on Shaun T and go insane with Insanity. And those results were achieved with a fractured foot in a cast for the last 7 weeks of the 12 week program, thanks to BB and all the amazing people doing P90X I found the strength to continue pressing play and got a new best friend in the process (my chair), I was able to modify the workouts to keep working out sitting on my chair, and although I was not able to do everything I was able to do enough to keep going and finish. After resting for 2 weeks I am now ready to tackle on Insanity, I cant wait to see what kind of results I get!

Thanks to Beachbody, their amazing fitness programs, their motivation and support I am achieving my goals, next month on the 21st of July I turn 40 and thanks to BB I will be in better shape than I was when I was 20. P90X, Shakeology and all my new family at beachbody have changed my life, I never thought I would be where I am today and I owe it to my new love for health and fitness, I want to make sure I'm in the best shape I can be to be around to see my grandchildren and enjoy being a part of their lives too, I'm gonna be a FIT Grandma!

Life is all about choices we can choose to do nothing and sit around and complain about how we look and be unhappy with the person in the mirror or we can get off our butts and do something about it! I chose to get off my butt and change my life for the better, and beachbody gave me all the tools I needed and all for a lot less than I was paying to go to the gym and with faster and better results than the gym ever gave me!

Its Beachbody for LIFE!

Round 1 of P90X In The Books!

Im officially a P90X grauduate, I cant believe how far I have come in 12 weeks. When I started I couldnt do a single pull-up or push-up unless I was in my knees, and I could only do 2 or 3 side tri-raises and now after 12 weeks I can do 25 side tri-raises, I can do about 20 pull-ups and I can do REAL push-ups without using my knees, wow, thanks to P90X I am so much stronger than when I started, and even with a fractured foot and in a cast for the last 7 weeks I still got results, I was able to lose 12.5 lbs, 25 inches all around and drop from a size 14 to a size 9 in jeans, I am a BELIEVER, P90X and Shakeology WORK, they worked for me! I cant wait to see what round 2 brings, I start Round 2 tomorrow June 14th, and Im psyched to see my results, BRING IT!!!

Beachbody Article #378 "The Truth Behind Your Scale"

Your Scale Doesn't Tell the Whole Story
By Whitney Provost

When it comes to weight loss, the scale can be a good measure of progress, particularly if you have a lot of weight to lose. But if you place too much emphasis on your weight and not enough on your body composition (the ratio of fat to lean muscle), you're only getting half the story. Plus, dreading your weigh-in or obsessing over the number on the scale is unproductive and can lead to unhealthy behaviors such as bingeing or starving yourself. Losing pounds doesn't always mean losing fat. Here's why the scale can be misleading.
• The scale doesn't tell you how much fat you have. Your scale does exactly what it's supposed to—it tells you how much you weigh. But in addition to measuring your weight, the scale weighs bone, water, muscle, organs, and undigested food. When the number on the scale goes up or down, it doesn't represent only fat loss or muscle gain. It measures fluctuations in glycogen (stored carbohydrates) and water, and it even measures how much that breakfast you ate weighs.
• You may wonder about scales that claim to measure your body fat. These send small electrical currents up one leg, through your pelvis, and down the other leg to determine your body's density. Then a formula is used to estimate your body fat. The problem with these scales is that they're notoriously inaccurate. However, they are usually consistent in their readings, so they can be helpful as a measuring tool. Even though the body fat reading might be off by as much as 5 or 10 percent, if the number trends downward over time, you know you're on the right track.
• The scale can't tell if you've gained muscle. A pound of muscle is like a brick, small and compact. A pound of fat is like a fluffy feather pillow, bulky and lumpy. When you gain muscle and lose fat, your body gets smaller and tighter. Building muscle also makes it possible to drop clothing sizes without a big change in weight. Perhaps after a 90-day fitness program, the scale says you lost 7 pounds, which may not sound like much. But what if you actually lost 12 pounds of fat and gained 5 pounds of muscle? That's a remarkable improvement in your body composition, but you wouldn't know it if you only used your regular bathroom scale to track your progress.
• You didn't really gain 5 pounds of fat overnight. You may step on the scale one morning and shriek in disbelief because the number is five digits higher than it was the day before. Stop panicking. Unless you ate an extra 17,500 calories the previous day, you didn't gain fat (a pound of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories). Your scale is registering water, stored carbohydrates, and food. Also, cheap bathroom scales may have measurement errors, giving slightly different readings even when you're at exactly the same weight.
• Your body's water levels are constantly changing. The scale can move up or down depending on how much water you drink, how much salt you consume, how much you sweat, and how many carbohydrates you eat. An average person can see a daily fluctuation in water weight of about 2 pounds, without any changes to diet or exercise habits. These fluctuations do not signify fat loss, and watching the scale move up and down every day can be frustrating for many dieters.
If you're trying to achieve a healthy weight and improve the way you look, you should focus less on what the scale says and more on developing the good habits that will produce results. To get lean and strong, with low body fat and nice muscle tone, there are three things you should do:
1. Cardio plus weight lifting (or other resistance training). Cardio workouts raise your heart rate to help you improve your fitness level, burn calories, and shed fat. Resistance training builds muscle, which boosts your metabolism and helps you burn even more calories. Fitness programs like P90X®, ChaLEAN Extreme®, and RevAbs™ all use cardio plus resistance training to improve muscle mass and burn fat.
2. Healthy diet. No matter how much you exercise, you'll never reach your fat-loss goals if you don't follow a healthy diet consisting of protein, vegetables, fruit, and whole grains. The right foods in controlled portions will fuel your body as it shrinks.
3. Track your progress. If you don't use the scale, you need to do something else to check your progress.
A. One of the best ways to keep track of your changing body is to use a tape measure. Record your chest, waist, hip, thigh, arm, and wrist measurements in a journal or the guidebook that comes with your workout program. Update the measurements every 30 days to see how your body changes.
B. Pictures are also good indicators of progress. Have someone take front, side, and back photos of you every 30 days and keep these with your body measurements.
C. Body fat testers can also be used regularly to track your fat loss. Monitoring your progress with tools other than the scale will give you a more realistic assessment of your weight loss success.
D. Hydrostatic (underwater) testing and DEXA (X-ray) scans use advanced technology to measure your body fat with a high degree of accuracy. An Internet search can help you find testing centers in your area.
E. Notice how your clothes fit. This is a foolproof way to prove that you're losing weight. If your clothes are getting looser, your body is shrinking, even if you don't see a big change in the mirror yet.

Too many people are slaves to the scale. They can't resist weighing themselves, only to feel guilty, angry, or demoralized when the numbers don't move down quickly enough. If you're one of those people whose weigh-ins lead to loss of motivation or a feeling of helplessness, then you need to reconsider using the scale for your progress checks. Success is more than just a number.

This Article was so interesting and so head on I had to post it here for all to come back to when ever they need a boost!

P90X Modified UPDATE!

Today I went to the doctor and after looking at my xrays the good news is that my bones are alighned correctly and the need for surgery is really low, the bad news is that I have to keep the cast on for 3 more weeks possibly more. However Im greatful because I do not want to have surgery and be out of commission 100%, at least with the cast I can work out my upper body and concentrate on getting better.

Im living prooof that P90X works today at the doctors office everyone noticed the changes in me, the girl at the front desk told me she wanted to lose about 30lbs and she wanted to know what I was doing cuz you can see that I have lost weight and I was blown away, its such an amazing feeling when people can tell that your hard work is ACTUALLY working, WOW.

I know 1 thing for sure I would NOT be able to move around so well in these crutches at 39 years old if I had not been almost half way through my 1st 90 days on P90X, it has made me stronger on top of helping me look leaner and go down a jean size. Im TOTALLY ADDICTED to P90X, so with cast and all I will continue to press play and continue to give it my best, tonight on the schedule is Back and Biceps 1 of the easier routines on my chair who is becoming my BFF, lol. Day 45 of my P90X journey is ON!

P90X and Shakeology is changing my life 1 day at a time, and its really an awesome feeling when people want to get in shape because they see REAL RESULTS in ME, YAYYYYY, BRING IT!!!

P90X modified...

Yesterday was the beginning of week 7 on my P90X journey and I wont lie it was hard to BRING IT!. Its been a week since I fell and fractured my foot and this cast is pain in my A$$, and getting around in crutches is a KILLER.
I am a single mom of 3 boys, 19, 17 and 11, my oldest is in College close by the house, my middle 1 is in his last year of HS and my little 1 is in his last year of Elementary school, 3 different schools and none of them drive. Im by myself with my kids, no fams or friends close by so I have to get up every morning and drop them all off at school which with the crutches is a MISSION and a half, but thanks to the 5 weeks of P90X that I got to do at 100% Im managing. P90X has made me stronger, leaner and given me more energy than I have had in a very long time, I know that if it wasnt for P90X these next few weeks would be brutal cuz there no way Id be able to get around in crutches in the shape that I was before I started my P90X journey.
Yesterday I did Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps and it kicked my A$$ big time but I did it, most of it, I had to do the push-ups on my knees but I was able to do most of them it was really hard cuz the cast feels like if I had weights on 1 leg, lol, and then I did most of the exercises in my chair, I BROUGHT it as best I could, I just kept telling myself remember what Tony says, "DO YOUR BEST AND FORGET THE REST", which is not always easy to do but I did, and Im so proud of myself. Tonight I was suppose to do Plyometrics the mother of all X's but I cant do it not even modified with my cast so Im replacing it with Kenpo X which is my favorite. I thought I couldnt do Kenpo either until I saw a video of a woman with MS doing it in her wheelchair, it made my day cuz I realized I could do it too in a chair. So tonight thats exactly what Im going to do Im going to bring it in a chair and do my best.
P90X has changed my life big time, it was the best decision I ever made, Im so thankful and greatful to my niece Vero who started P90X and through her excitement got me to finally do it to, Im soooo addicted because for 1 its amazing its empowering and its rewarding, but its also gratifying cuz it gives you real results, its NO gimmick, its REAL people getting REAL results every day, and Im 1 of those people.
Thank you Tony Horton, P90X and Beachbody for helping me change my life for the better, and thank you Vero, I love you dearly girly! For me its not P90X its P4lifeX, BRING IT!!! WOOT, WOOT!

Inspired...

I just finished watching a very moving and inspiring video on BB about a woman fighting MS. She was in a wheel chair and thanks to Shakeology and P90X she got in the best shape of her life. The most inspiring part of the video was her BRINGING IT big time even from her wheel chair, that left me thinking if she can do Kenpo X in a wheel chair than why cant I do it in a chair, ok so I cant do the legs cuz of the cast but I can definetely do the arms and get my stress out so KENPO X here I come, woo hoo, that video not only inspired me but it made my day since Kenpo X is my favorite workout and being in this cast is stressing the hell out of me, now I can release some of that stress even from a chair, BRING IT!

Thank you BB, P90X, Tony Horton and Cammie for sharing your story!

1 week in my cast...

Today is 1 week since I fell down and fractured my foot. I was really bummed at 1st but things are starting to look better. However Im not going to say that this week has been easy, NOT at all, being home all day with my foot up on a pillow sucks big time, and everytime I have to do anything its like a mission. Even taking a shower is a mission with this cast. I can definetely say that thanks to the 5 weeks of P90X I am stronger and it has helped me get around in these crutches. I had to modify my workouts to fit my needs, so I am continueing my workouts with a few modification. I started on a Monday so that my rest day could be on Sundays, well now because of my fracture my rest day is every other day since I can not do cardio. Week 7 starts Monday and my workouts right now look like this:
Monday:
Chest, Shoulders and Triceps:
Chest-I do the push ups on my knees.
Shoulders and triceps-I lift the weights sitting on a chair.
No Ab Ripper X!
Tuesday:
Rest, since I should be doing Plyometrics and I can not do it with my cast on.
Wednesday:
Back and Biceps:
Back-I do the pull-ups with the resistance bands sitting on a chair.
Biceps-I lift the weights sitting on a chair.
No Ab Ripper X!
Thursday:
Rest, since I should be doing Yoga X and I can not do Yoga with my cast.
Friday:
Legs and Back:
NO Legs, I cant with my cast
Back-I do the pull-ups sitting on a chair with the resistance bands.
Saturday and Sunday:
Rest, since I can not do Kenpo X my favorite workout on Sat cuz of my cast.
This will continue to be my workout schedule for the next 3 weeks until my cast comes off.
Since I am home doing mostly nothing except laying in bed with my foot up unless I am taking my boys to school, or doing my workouts, I am being extra careful with what I eat, I do not want to gain back the lbs I have lost so far. So for breakfast I have my Chocolate Shakeology with a strawberry banana yogurt smoothie, 2 oz of skim milk and ice, then for lunch I have some fruit and yogurt, honestly my appetite is almost completely gone, I kind have to force myself to eat, and then for dinner I have a small portion of what ever is on the menu for the day, for snacks I have fruits-grapes, bananas, pineapple, or cantalope.
When I was working out HARD everyday I was consuming about 1900-2000 calories a day but now since Im not really working out as hard Im trying to keep my calories at around 1500 calories a day, so far I havent lost any weight but I havent gained any weight either so that makes me happy.
I cant wait for this cast to come off, I decided that when it comes off Im just going to continue on with what ever week I should be on since Im still working out now and I will see how it goes, when I complete my 1st round of P90X depending on where I am with my goals, I will either go INSANE with Insanity or I will do a 2nd round of P90X, it all depends on where I end up at when I finish P90X.

Knocked down but not defeated...

On the last day of week 5 of my P90X journey clumsy me falls and fractures my left foot, I have to be in a cast for 4 weeks which sucks big time, but Im managing. At 1st I was totally bummed but now things are looking better. So with a few modifications I can definetely work out my upper body. I can do the push-ups and the side raises on the wall, and I can do the pull ups with the resistance bands sitting on the floor, which takes care of my chest and back, I can do my shoulders, biceps and tricepts sitting on a chair with dumbells. For sure I cant work out my legs and I cant do cardio right now, so my favorite workouts are out, NO Kenpo and Plyo, although getting around on the crutches is a cardio workout in itself, I break a sweat every time I walk around for just a little while, lol and Im pretty sure that walking around with this cast is working out my legs too. Ab Ripper X is out as well cuz its really hard to do the ab workouts with a cast on, its like trying to work out with weights on just 1 leg. The question is what do I do after the cast comes off, do I pick up right where I was when I fractured my foot, and start at week 6 or do I go back to the beginning and start all over again??? I dont know, the only thing I do know is that after 5 weeks of doing P90X I am stronger, I have lost 12lbs and 16inches all over my body, I have more energy and my clothes fit better, I even dropped a size in my jeans. Thanks to Shakeology and P90X my life has changed for the better and I will not let this fracture hinder my progress, I will do what I can for now and do like Tony says "Do Your BEST and Forget The Rest" and I will "Keep Pressing PLAY", Im TOTALLY amazed with the results so far, and I cant wait to see where this journey takes me, I look forward to BRINGING IT everyday, like I keep saying for me its not P90X its P4lifeX, BRING IT!

1 month of my P90X journey complete..

I cant believe its been a month since I started my P90X journey, it seems like just yesterday I did my 1st workout and today I just completed my last workout of phase 1, phase 2/week 5 starts on Monday. What a journey its been, when I started I was weighing 192lbs and now Im down to 180lbs, lost 12lbs in 4 weeks, I went from a size 14 to a size 12 in jeans, my arms, my legs, my waist, all my measurements went down several inches I lost a total of 14 inches in all. Im feeling stronger, Im feeling more energized,my clothes are fitting better, Im sleeping better, heck even my skin is looking better, and people are starting to notice the change, they are coming up to me now and asking me what am I doing to lose the weight, Im so proud of myself right now, I can do so much more than when I started, I can lift heavier weights, I can do more reps and I can last longer, I never though I would be doing military push ups yet now I can, and the side rises, OMG I could only do like 2 and now I can do about 22, what a difference a month can make, the results are small in numbers but huge for me in just 4 weeks, Im totally blown away by what I see in the mirror. This is a complete transformation for me, P90X and Shakeology is changing my life 1 day at a time, this is not a phase for me this is a lifestyle now, I might be getting older, but Im definetely getting healthier and fitter and when I turn 40 in July I will be happy to say that I will be in the best shape of my life, its not P90X for me its P4lifeX, thanks to the people at beachbody, and the amazing trainers, I plan on going insane with INSANITY and then mixing it up between P90X and INSANITY, this is for life, Im addicted to my workouts, its excillarating, and empowering, DECIDE, COMMITT, SUCCEED, I decided to change my life, I committed to working out and eating healthier to attain success in becoming the healthiest, and fittest I have ever been in my life! BRING IT!!

My P90X journey... Week 4 almost done, Week 5 starts Monday!

I cant believe its been 4 weeks since I decided to change my life for the better, to get healthy, get fit and get in the best shape of my life. I have been doing P90X for 4 weeks now and Im sooooooo amazed by the results. I can feel the difference a month has made, I feel stronger, I can do more reps, I can do more push ups, more pull ups and so forth. Im stronger, Im feeling more energized, Im looking better, and my clothes are fitting better, and Im even being approached by people at work asking me what I am doing. Well the only thing I am doing is P90X and drinking a Shakelogy shake for breakfast, I havent gone on any diet, I do watch my portions but thats it and Im seeing results, like I keep saying REAL people REAL results, its what got me hooked. I will be getting on the scale, taking my measurements and 30 day pics on Sun so everyone can see how Im doing so far, but I just wanted to give you guys an update on my P90X journey. I have dropped a size in my jeans, Im so excited I had to tell, I didnt think it would be possible but IT IS!, I was wearing a size 14 when I started P90X a month ago and now Im wearing a size 12, WOOT, WOOT. So if I can do it so can everyone else. More to come soon...

P4lifeX, BRING IT!!!
Yosie

Hard Work Pays Off...

Today at work a nurse in the ICU unit stoped me and asked me what I was doing to lose weight, she told me it shows in my face and in my clothes, so I told her I started doing P90X an amazing fitness workout a month ago and I started drinking a meal replacement shake called Shakeology, I drink it every morning for breakfast, thats it nothing more, Im not even following the nutritional guide that came with P90X, Im using portion control but not really dieting, and she was like wow, tell me more, I havent weighed myself since I started but I feel stronger, my clothes fit better, and its starting to show, YEEEE, thanks Tony and everyone at Beachbody, and thank you to my niece Vero who inspired me to get off my butt and just do it, BRING IT!!! Im almost done with week 4 and I know that for me its not P90X, its P4lifeX, P90X has changed my life 1 day at a time, I never thought I would love working out but thanks to P90X and all the support from beachbody and fellow fitness friends I push play everyday, Im inspired by all the REAL transformations taking place all over the world thanks to the beachbody products, so much so that I decided to become part of the team and become a Coach myself, I figured if I can help anyone change their life its worth it, not to mention the discounts you get as well, DECIDE- I decided to change my life, to get healthy and get fit before I turn 40 in July, COMMIT, Im committed to working out and doing my best every day, SUCCEED, as the title says hard work pays off, I can SUCCEED, and so can YOU, if I can do this and Im a single mom with 3 boys, working full time, dealing with work, HW, after school activities, my middle son plays soccer in a travel league and we practice everyday and have games all over the state of Fl, my car is only a year and a few months old and I already have almost 30,000 miles, I know any one can do it, all it takes is a DECISION to change your life, not just to look better but to be healthy, we arent getting any younger but we could age in the best shape of our lives...BRING IT!

Why I need to share my excitement about P90X

Im excited and happy about doing something right for my life, its not just about looking better its about being healthier too, back in 2005 I was at my heaviest, I was weighing 228lbs, I was so disgusted with myself that I decided to do something about it, it took me a year to lose 80lbs, I was very proud of myself but I did it alone, no support just me and it was hard, I was able to maintain myself at around 150lbs for almost 3 years then last summer my endometriosis started acting up and the docs put me on harmones, well it didnt help with the endometriosis and it made me gain 40lbs, I had surgery in Nov and couldnt really start exersicing right away, I went to my nieces bday party in Feb and when I saw the pics I got depressed I looked as big as I did when I was 220lbs and I said oh hell no I did not work that hard to gain it all back again, I have to do something, my niece had started doing P90X and she was so excited about it that it got me excited and my middle son was bugging me about getting it for him, so I decided you know what lets do this and I ordered P90X and started on 3/15, I get motivated by every day people pressing play and getting amazing results, that I have to share my excitement, its hard enough to lose weight and get fit, no one should have to do it alone, so I share my excitement, my enthusiasm and my love and plain joy for doing it everyday, its a choice we make and some of us need that extra little push to press play, if that push could come from me then why not, I do it cuz you never know when someone is where I was totally disgusted with how they look and that 1 post can make the difference and help them turn their life around, it motivates me even more when people tell me thank you, its a wonderful feeling to know that something I say or post can help someone else change their lives, its changing mines...
