Starting over again

Tomorrow I will start ChaLean Extreme over again from day 1, my BFF wants to do it too. In 2 weeks that I have been doing the program, I have already seen results, I lost 2lbs, 8inches and I can see more definition in my body. CLE ROCKS!!!

CLE is a strength training 12 week program, that includes cardio, although the schedule starts on Mon with Tues and Sun off I am moving my Sat workout to Tues so that I can have my weekends off, here is what my schedule looks like:

Phase 1 - Burn Phase – 30 Days
Day 1 - Burn Circuit 1
Day 2 - Burn Intervals/Ab Burner
Day 3 - Burn Circuit 2
Day 4 - Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 5 - Burn Circuit 3
Day 6 - Rest Day
Day 7 - Rest Day
Repeat for 3 more weeks for a total of 28 days.
Day 29 - Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 30 – Rest Day

Phase 2 – Push Phase – 30 Days
Day 31- Push Circuit 1
Day 32- Burn Intervals/Ab Burner
Day 33- Push Circuit 2
Day 34- Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 35- Push Circuit 3
Day 36- Rest Day
Day 37- Rest Day
Repeat for 3 more weeks for a total of 28 Days.
During the last two weeks, switch from Ab Burner to Extreme Abs after Burn Intervals.
Day 59 - Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 60 – Rest Day

Phase 3 – Lean Phase – 30 days
Day 31- Lean Circuit 1
Day 32- Burn Intervals/Extreme Abs
Day 33- Lean Circuit 2
Day 34- Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 35- Lean Circuit 3
Day 36- Rest Day
Day 37- Rest Day
Repeat for 3 more weeks for a total of 28 Days.
Day 89 – Burn It Off/Recharge
Day 90 – Rest Day

Reflecting...

I read this passage today and it had such an impact on me I had to come blog about it, cuz its sooooo on point...

You must learn to guard against those feelings that have the capacity to lead your attitude down the wrong path and to strengthen those feelings that can lead you confidently into a better future. Your attitude is an asset, a treasure of great value, which must be protected accordingly. Having the right attitude is one of the basics that success requires.

This is such a deep and true passage. When I don't feel like working out, its soooo easy to be like it's ok, I will workout tomorrow. The truth is that if I skip my workouts, the only person I hurt is myself, so listening to that voice that says oh its just 1 workout, you can miss it, you don't have to workout today, is just hurting me, but listening to that voice that says YOU CAN DO IT, helps me! So when I feel like not working out, I ignore those feelings and PRESS PLAY anyway...

Its amazing how many people told me I was nuts taking this health and fitness thing so seriously and yet here I am almost a year later and although I have not achieved the results I wanted Im closer to them than before but whats made ALL the difference in the world is the people I have helped, the people I have touched and the BB family I have acquired...

Overjoyed...

A customer of mines just posted this on my FB wall:

"Had to tell you how much you have inspired me to keep going, to not give up and do as much as I can physically. And now, you've inspired me to overhaul my diet. My lunch today - salad, small portion of chicken cooked in herbs and a bit of olive oil and a small bit of cheese. Love ya!"

This is the reason I became a BB Coach, to help people!!! To be able to help someone achieve their goals is such an amazing feeling, I am overjoyed and teary eyed right now. Helping others is my passion, being able to help someone make the changes they need to make to be a better them is the reason I push play everyday, its the reason I push forward everyday, its not easy to commit, decide and succeed, but having someone to help you along, the way BB has helped me is PRICELESS!!!

Day 8 Complete

WHEWWWWW LOVE this program, ChaLean Extreme day 8 is in the books, Burn Circuit 1 its short and sweet, and OMG is it killer, I will be sore tomorrow thats for sure, but a GOOD sore.

There is nothing like the rush of completing a workout, getting it done just feels great. Its exhilarating.

Tomorrow is Cardio, TurboFire...

Day 5 and 6 DONE

I completed day 5 on Friday, Burn Circuit 3, and OMG all I can say is WOW, day 6 was my cardio/recovery day, burn it off and recharge, again WOW.

I am really loving this program and how from day to day I see myself regaining my strength and desire to workout and push play, I LOVE Chalene Johnson and her program ChaLean Extreme is EXTREEEEEME but TOTALLY worth every drop of sweat.

Today is day 8, on my new fitness journey, Sundays is my day off/Rest day, although I was running around with my son so it wasn't much of a rest day, lol.

Day 4 Complete


OMG today was my Cardio day and I decided to do CLE instead of doing TurboFire, I did burn intervals and Ab burner, all I can say is WOW. I feel every muscle in my Abs... Even my flanks are on FIRE right now, my legs, my arms, my whole body is like WOW.

I am IN LOVE with ChaLean Extreme, sorry Tony H, like I said you were my 1st but Chalene is the BEST!! Im on such a high right now, I can totally see me doing this program for the rest of my life with addition of others of coarse but CLE will be my strength training program from now on for SURE!!!

Day 4 is DONE, day 5 here I COME....

Day 3 Complete...

Can YOU say JELLO arms, OMG, Chalene Johnson just handed me my A$$ on a platter. WOW. Day 3 Burn Circuit 2 of ChaLean Extreme is in the books, WOOT, WOOT!

I cant believe I got through that, this program is amazing cuz the moves are slow, and intense. You lift heavy, and do less reps, 12 max to failure, when it comes to strength training failure is a good thing, lol. Right now Im lifting 7 to 12 lb weights, which are not that heavy but they are for me and for the Burn phase its all good. Next month we go into the Push phase and I will increase my weights. When she says EXTREME she means EXTREEEEEME!

All I can say is I LOVED P90X but I really, really, really LOVE ChaLean Extreme, sorry Tony, you will always be my 1st but Chalene is the BEST!!!

Day 2 Complete

OMG my body feels like jelly, lol, TurboFire, FIRE 30 kicked my A$$, but I LOVED IT, woot, woot. I decided to stop fighting it and caved, I am just NOT a morning person, I tried, honest I did, but its sooooo hard to get my workouts in before I go to work, so I decided why fight it?? Im going back to my night time workouts, at 9 or 10pm Mon through Fri, earlier on Sat's

My new fitness journey consists of ChaLean Exteme by Chalene Johnson for strength training, weight days Mon, Wed and Fri, and TurboFire also by Chalene Johnson for cardio on Tues, Thurs and Sat and resting on Sundays.

Day 2 is DONE, day 3 here I COME...

WHY...

I became a Coach in April 2010 to get the discounts on Shakeology, and soon after that I got an email from a woman telling me how much my posts and enthusiasm was helping her get off the couch and start working out again, we built a relationship and connected, she was 1 of my 1st customers, and she is maintaining her fitness routine.

It blew me away that I could actually help someone change their life the way BB was helping me change mines, and in July I decided to do the biz part of this biz. I know 1st hand how hard it is to lose weight, Im Dominican, its in my genes to be a big girl and its hard work to stay in shape its not easy its a daily battle and if I can help someone with their battle then I have done something GOOD. The money is a plus for me, a very good plus cuz its helping me a lot, I wont lie, being a single mom is not easy and every little bit helps but my satisfaction comes from knowing that I can make a difference in someones life. I want to help end the trend of obesity, 1 day at time, 1 person at time, 1 workout at time AND it starts with me...

Yesterday was day 1 of ChaLean Extreme, and it kicked my A$$, today is TurboFire, a total fat blasting kickboxing cardio routine. My goal this year is to get back to my ideal weight of 145lbs and back into a size 7, right now I am 190lbs and wearing a size 9-10, Im ready to change my life for the better 1 day at time, 1 workout at time and I hope that I can help you make the decision to change yours too... OMG ChaLean Extreme just handed me my my A$$ on a plate, literally, what an intense but amazing workout, I am going to be SORE tomorrow. LIFT HEAVY OR GO HOME, is no joke but I loved every single move each and every exercise worked a muscle I didnt even know I had.

My new Fitness Journey BEGINS...


I cant believe in just a few weeks it will be a year since I started on my fitness journey... What an experience its been, I started at 198lbs went down to 180lbs, went back up to 196lbs and I am now down to 190lbs again, I went from a size 14 to a size 9 back up to a size 11 and I am now back to a size 9 again. Its been quite a roller coaster ride, between spraining my elbow, fracturing my foot, having extreme nosebleeds, getting bronchitis, suffering from allergies at times so bad my Asthma has acted up, its been quite the experience.

If there is 1 thing I learned is that this journey is not easy, its hard, but I have a choice to continue or to quit, and I am not a quitter. I want to get down to 145lbs not because I want to look better, sure thats part of it, but because I feel that is my healthiest weight. I want to make sure that I can be around as long as God will allow me to be, so that I can enjoy life, enjoy my kids, be around to enjoy by my grand kids and not have to deal with all the illnesses my family has gone through. I lost my grandmother to diabetes and I see diabetes attacking my family 1 at time, it runs in both sides of my family, I don't want to have to deal with diabetes, with high blood pressure, with high cholesterol, with heart disease and all the other illnesses that come with obesity. Sure you might look at me and say you are not obese but medically speaking I am. And I feel it, my back hurts, and my joints hurt, I need to lose the weight its my ONLY option.

I have been doing TurboFire since the year started, a high intensity Cardio butt kicking program and starting tomorrow I am going to start doing ChaLean Extreme, a strength training program, I am ready to add weights to my workouts again cuz muscle burns fat and the only way to build muscle is to lift weights...

SOOOO starting tomorrow the next phase of my fitness journey begins. My plan is to do Chalean Extreme and add TurboFire on the cardio days, Im going to workout Mon through Saturdays off on Sundays for the next 12 weeks to try to get as close to my goal weight of 145lbs as I can. I turn 41 in July and I would like to be in the best shape I can be by then...

The 1st part is to make a choice, a decision to change, the next part is to make a plan, write it down, commit to it, share it with others, putting it out there gives you a better chance to succeed. The 2nd part is to put the plan into action, just do it, 1 day at time, 1 workout at time, and watch what you eat, I DO NOT do diets, I use portion control and I drink Shakeology, its not only the healthiest meal of the day but it serves as my cheat meal of the day too cuz I drink the chocolate flavor and its sooooo delicious I feel like Im cheating, its like wanting your cake and getting to eat it too.


I promise to stick to this plan and that if I fall I will dust off my butt and get back up, I am not a quitter, and I will keep going until I succeed. I will blog everyday for the next 12 weeks to put my daily battle on this journey out there, my goal besides reaching my ideal weight of 145lbs is to help someone, inspire someone to make a change the way I am committing to change, together we can succeed, I know it. LETS DO THIS!!!

Choices...

What an amazing quote cuz its soooooo true. Our choices determine our destiny, we all have choices, what we choose decides what happens in our life. It so easy to blame those around us but in fact its our choices that get us were we are today. We have the power to decide what we do, where we go, what we eat, how we act, its all a choice. We choose when we fall to get back up or to stay down. Life doesn't wait for us to choose it keeps going no matter what choices we make, that is the only sure thing in life it doesn't stop to wait for us to decide.

Sometimes our choices are easy and sometimes they are hard, but there is always a choice. We need to fill ourselves with knowledge, read books listen to audio CDs and surround ourselves with positive things and people so that it will be easier for us to make the right choices when the time comes.

Im so grateful for becoming a BB coach cuz it has put me in the right position to make the right choices about my health and fitness journey, it has surrounded me with positive people that help me choose wisely and when I don't, support me and help me regain my focus. It has also taught me so much about life, since becoming a coach I try to read at least 10 pages of a good book on personal development, or listen to an audio CD for 10 to 15 minutes a day, it doesn't take long to make small changes in your life that will help you make the right choices. I just finished reading the book "The Slight Edge, by Jeff Olson" what an amazing book, its a book that before I became a BB Coach I would of never even looked at, yet after reading it my life has changed for the better, I now believe in the slight edge, its doing the little things that together overtime compound into the big things, it teaches us that even though we may not see instant results, if we continue to do the small things everyday, we will get what we want in the long run, for example if you workout today, you will not see the results tomorrow, but if you workout 5 yo 6 days YOU WILL SEE results on day 7, thats how life works, the slight edge is always working, YOU decide if it works for you or against you, for example eating that greasy plate of food will not kill you today, but if you keep eating that way in time it will, thats how life works, everything you do, every choice you make, every decision you make has a consequence... Think about it! Even not deciding to make a decision is a decision.

So think about your choices, learn as much as you can, take time for YOU and your personal growth and arm yourself with the right tools to make the RIGHT choices, and remember that EVERY step counts...

Life is GOOD!!!


Its Friday, yayyyy and although I have not really worked out much this week thanks to this cold I have, I still managed to lose 2lbs. Im so grateful for Shakeology cuz it keeps me in-line even when I do not workout as much like this week. Its also my comfort food when I'm feeling down since I LOVE Chocolate, and its my go to food when I do not have time to eat something or when like today I just didn't feel like eating so I made myself a tall YUMMY glass of Chocolate Shakeology with a dash of cinnamon, a tbsp of vanilla extract and lots and lots of ice, it was so thick I could of used a spoon, totally hit the spot.

Its been a challenging week for me, not feeling well, a little down over the Valentine's day holiday, being single can suck sometimes, but thanks to my amazing BB sisters, Karen and Josie, things are ok. I love that I can be real with them and that they comfort me, tell me the truth, kick my butt back into focus and always, always, stand next to me, not behind me or ahead of me. So even though it hasn't been a GREAT week its been a pretty darn good week.

I got lots accomplished, I lost 2lbs, I met new people, I joined this really cool group Smoking Hot Mommas and I realize that LIFE is GOOD, it might not be easy all the time and it might not be what I want it to be at times but it is definitely GOOD.

So this weekend instead of feeling sorry for myself cuz Im single, Im going to be grateful for everything that I do have, my fams, my friends, my health, my biz and most of all MY LIFE!!! Besides who better to be my Valentine than my kids right and this year I have my daughter in law and my step granddaughter too, so IM SMILING, and when everyone is eating chocolates, Ill just be drinking my YUMMY glass of Chocolate Shakeology, hits the spot, takes care of my cravings, is filling and gives me energy too, what more could I ask for.

Excited...

I am so excited I had to come blog about it, lol, my mom is my biggest hero, she is the one I look up to the most, she showed me that I can do this on my own, that I can survive being on my own with my kids and that I do not need a man by my side to be a good mom and thanks to her I have done it on my own with 3 beautiful boys, they are my life, my pride and my joy.

My mom was here for a week with me on vacation and she tried my chocolate Shakeology shakes, she wanted to know what it was that made it so special and why I cant go a day without having my shake, she tried it and she got hooked, after a week of drinking it everyday she lost 2lbs, she felt full of energy, she slept better and she just felt better so much so that she ordered her own supply. YAYYYY my mom is on her way to better health, that's HUGE, she is diabetic and suffers from high blood pressure and her cholesterol is borderline, but I know for a fact that now that she will be drinking Shakeology everyday her health WILL improve...

Shakeology for me is a LIFE changer, not only has it turned my health totally around but I know 2 people personally who are diabetics and have gone from shooting up insulin a few times a day to taking pills now cuz their sugar is so well controlled and its all thanks to Shakeology, I'm confident that my moms sugar will stabilize too and she will be well on her way to a better and healthier life.

Thank you soooooooo much Shakeology... Words cant express the joy I am feeling right now, my mom next to my kids are my life and if I can have her with me longer I will be eternally grateful...

The 1st part of change is to get REAL...

REALISTIC thinking is the catalyst for change... John C Maxwell, YOU have to GET REAL to CHANGE...

This really hit home, it made me think about where I am and where I want to be and what I need to do get there.

The 1st thing I did is look at my weight how much I weigh and how much I want to weigh and then I put a plan of action into place, I wrote down my goals, and what Im going to do to reach them. I wrote out a schedule and a plan to stick to so that I can make it happen. The 1st part of change is to get REAL...

This quote totally hit home because its so true, we get upset when we think about losing weight but we didnt get to be where we are over night we gained the weight over time and it takes time to lose it. My goal is to get back to 145lbs the weight I feel is a healthy weight for me, not just because it will help me feel better about myself but because it will help me feel better period. Since I put the weight on I have back problems again, and aches and pains in my joints that I know is from carrying the extra weight. I need to put my thoughts into action and continue to press play everyday. I made a decision to move my health and fitness and my life forward. I want to be the healthiest I can be so that I can be here for my kids and get to see my grand kids too. And to make sure I dont follow in my family's path. Diabetes, Hypertension and heart disease runs in both my parents families, I dont want to be another statistic, I want to be part of the solution and it starts with me.
